About Kristina

Kristina Terwilliger, soprano, is an emerging artist and voice educator based in Brooklyn, New York, recognized for her soaring upper register and agile coloratura. She has performed a wide range of operatic and concert repertoire, building a career that bridges performance and pedagogy.

Recent regional engagements include Leïla in Les pêcheurs de perles with Amore Opera; Joan in Madam with Killer Queen Opera; Miss Silverpeal in The Impresario with Light House Opera; Pamina in Die Zauberflöte with Garden State Singers; Violetta in La Traviata with New Jersey Lyric Opera; and Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance and Phyllis in Iolanthe with the Iolanthe Opera Company.

Internationally, she has performed as Violetta in La Traviata with the Mediterranean Opera Festival in Italy and as Gilda in Rigoletto with Festival de’Bardi van Nederland in the Netherlands. In addition to her vocal work, she has appeared as the Solo Principal Dancer in La Bohème with Seattle Opera, reflecting her strong background in dance and movement.

Kristina holds a Bachelor of Music in Applied Voice from the University of Washington, where she studied with Cyndia Sieden. While at UW, she performed the role of Diana in La Calisto, Ensemble in Orphée with Pacific MusicWorks, and Bucket in the world premiere of #Adulting with Lowbrow Opera Company. She continued her education at New York University, where she earned a Master of Music in Classical Vocal Performance and an Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy, studying with Harolyn Blackwell Greer. During her graduate studies, she performed the roles of Euridice in Orfeo ed Euridice, Eurydice in Orpheus in the Underworld, and Ilia in Idomeneo.

Alongside her performance career, Kristina is a dedicated educator and serves as head of the voice department and director of the vocal ensemble at Ocean County College. She also maintains a private voice studio in New York City, working with singers of all levels and backgrounds. Her work reflects a commitment to expressive performance and the development of healthy, sustainable vocal technique.
